Google honors Robert Doisneau, a renowned French photographer who pioneered in photojournalism with a Google Doodle on April 14, 2012, being that is the day he was born.
Doisneau is a well known French photographer and gave an unusual air of dignity and prominence to photography of everyday moments. His skill is shown in Le baiser de l'hotel de ville (
Kiss by Hotel de Ville) a prominent piece in French photography.
Aside from that he served in World War II drafted as a soldier and a photographer. He was hired for the Vogue whose editirs believed he would provide a fresh look for the magazine but disliking photographing beautiful women in elegant surroundings because he preferred street photography much more.
It wasn't until Life when he achieved prominence with Le baiser de l'hotel de ville (Kiss by Hotel de Ville)
Unfortunately, he died in 1994 due to triple heart bypass, six months after her wife who died of Parkinson's and Alzheimer's disease.
